Headlight Restoration Kit for Cloudy, Yellowed & Oxidized Headlights

Restore clarity to cloudy, yellowed and oxidized headlights with the Flitz Headlight Restoration Kit. This complete headlight restoration system combines polishing, buffing and sealing to help bring dull plastic headlight lenses back to a clearer finish.

The kit includes everything needed for the restoration process except a drill, and it can restore up to 10 headlights. Instead of replacing expensive headlight assemblies or paying for professional restoration, you can restore them yourself at home.

Cloudy headlights are more than an appearance problem. As plastic lenses become oxidized and hazy, they can reduce the amount of light reaching the road. Restoring the lens helps improve headlight clarity and nighttime visibility.

For many vehicles, the solution is simple: a drill, about 15 minutes and the Flitz Headlight Restoration Kit.

Why Do Headlights Turn Yellow and Foggy?

Modern headlight lenses are commonly made from durable polycarbonate plastic. Over time, exposure to sunlight, road debris, weather and repeated washing can wear away the protective coating on the lens.

As the exposed plastic begins to oxidize, headlights may become:

• Yellow
• Cloudy
• Foggy
• Dull
• Hazy
• Lightly scratched

Because much of this damage occurs at the surface, it can often be polished away.

The Flitz headlight restoration process removes the oxidized surface layer, polishes the plastic to restore clarity, and finishes with Ceramic Sealant to help protect the restored surface from future yellowing and fading.

What's Included in the Flitz Headlight Restoration Kit?

Flitz Paste Metal Polish – 1.7 oz

Flitz Paste Metal Polish removes oxidation, haze and small scratches to help restore clarity to weathered headlight lenses. The concentrated formula goes a long way, allowing one kit to restore multiple headlights.

Flitz Ceramic Sealant – 1.7 oz

After polishing, Ceramic Sealant helps protect the restored plastic surface from UV exposure that contributes to future yellowing and fading.

1000-Grit Abrasive Scuffing Pad

For headlights with severe oxidation or yellowing, the included scuffing pad helps level the damaged outer surface before polishing.

Mini 3" BuffBall

The Mini BuffBall attaches to a standard 3/8" drill and makes the polishing process faster and easier than hand buffing alone.

The kit also includes easy-to-follow instructions for both light restoration and more heavily oxidized headlights.

How to Restore Headlights with the Flitz Headlight Restoration Kit

1. Clean the headlight lens to remove dirt and road debris before polishing.
2. Apply Flitz Paste Metal Polish to the surface of the headlight.
3. Buff with the Mini BuffBall using a drill at 1800–2500 RPM. Keep the BuffBall moving across the lens until clarity returns.
4. For severe yellowing, moisten the included 1000-grit scuffing pad and prepare the oxidized surface before polishing.
5. Finish with Flitz Ceramic Sealant to help protect the restored lens from future clouding and yellowing.

For lightly hazed headlights, start with the polish before using the abrasive pad. The pad is intended for more heavily oxidized lenses.

A Drill-Powered Headlight Polishing Kit

The included Mini BuffBall turns a standard drill into a convenient headlight buffer, helping the Flitz polish work across the lens quickly and evenly.

Unlike headlight restoration methods that require multiple stages of wet sanding, many headlights can be restored with the Flitz polish and BuffBall alone. More heavily oxidized lenses can be prepared first with the included scuffing pad.

A complete headlight restoration does more than polish away haze. Once the weathered surface has been removed, protecting the newly polished plastic is an important final step.
