Improve Visibility, Enhance Safety, and Restore Your Headlights with the Flitz Headlight Restoration Kit

As your car gets older, so do your headlights—restore them with the Flitz Headlight Restoration Kit.

Old headlights become yellowed, foggy, and scratched. But you’re minutes away from like-new headlights with the Flitz Headlight Restoration Kit. Our easy-to-use kit can restore up to 10 headlights, improving visibility and safety. Protect your headlights from future yellowing and fading, too. It’s far less money than a professional restoration or new headlights.

Cloudy headlights are an eyesore and a safety problem. When lenses become oxidized, they scatter and block the glow of your headlights. This cuts down on your nighttime visibility, and it makes it more difficult for other drivers to see you.

If your vehicle’s headlights have taken on a dull, yellow haze, your safety and visibility have suffered. When it happens slowly over months and years of sun exposure, you might barely notice the oxidation happening.

Fortunately, in most cases, you don’t need new headlight assemblies. You need 15 minutes, a drill, and the Flitz Headlight Restoration Kit.

Why Do Headlights Turn Yellow and Foggy?

You’ve likely noticed headlights become cloudy over time. Modern headlight lenses are made from polycarbonate plastic. It’s a strong, impact-resistant material that also happens to be vulnerable to UV light.

When headlights leave the factory, they include a protective UV coating, but the years of sunlight, road debris, harsh weather, and automatic car washes break the coating down. When it fails, the sun starts to cloud the bare plastic, and the lens oxidizes. It usually begins with a light haze, which eventually becomes yellowed and cloudy. The weathered look makes even a well-kept, beloved vehicle look neglected.

Because the damage is on the surface of the lens, it can be polished away. That’s exactly what we’ve designed our Flitz Headlight Restoration Kit to do. It first removes the oxidized layer, restoring optical clarity. Then you seal the fresh surface with ceramic protection, so headlights stay clear and vibrant.

Use the Flitz Headlight Restoration Kit On:

  • Headlights
  • Taillights
  • Light Bars
  • Windshields
  • Boat Hatches
  • Bug Deflectors
  • Plastic Camper Windows
  • Helmet Face Shields

Our Headlight Restoration Kit offers versatility and noticeable results. The kit isn’t just a single-purpose headlight kit. The same polish-and-seal system works on almost any clear plastic or acrylic surface that’s turned foggy and hazy. You can restore your headlights this weekend, and then bring your camper windows, boat hatch, or motorcycle face shield back to life next weekend.

The Flitz Headlight Restoration Kit Includes:

  • Flitz Paste Metal Polish (1.7 oz): Our signature product, the concentrated paste removes oxidation, haze, and small scratches to restore your lenses to light-new clarity. A little goes a long way (which is how one kit handles up to 10 headlights).
  • Flitz Ceramic Sealant (1.7 oz): The step most other headlight kits skip is protection. When your lens is polished and clear, our Ceramic Sealant locks in the finish. It protects the plastic from the UV rays that cause yellowing in the future.
  • 1000 Grit Abrasive Scuffing Pad: It might sound counterintuitive, but headlights that have deep yellowing can use a good pass with the scuff pad. It levels the damaged surface so the Paste Metal Polish can do its job.
  • Mini 3” BuffBall: A customer favorite. The Mini BuffBall chucks into any standard 3/8” drill (drill not included) and does the hard work for you. You don’t need elbow grease or lots of hand-buffing; the BuffBall turns your power tool into a powerful cleaning accessory.

Your kit also comes with clear, easy-to-follow instructions that walk you through light restorations and heavy-duty jobs.

How to Restore Headlights with Flitz:

  1. Apply Flitz Paste Metal Polish to the headlight’s surface.
  2. Buff the headlight with the mini BuffBall, using your drill at 1800-2500 RPM. Keep the BuffBall moving across the lens until clarity returns.
  3. For extreme yellowing, prep the lens first with the moistened scuff pad before polishing. This step knocks down the heavily oxidized layer to let the polish penetrate and finish the job.
  4. Finish with the Flitz Ceramic Sealant to give your lights long-lasting UV protection against future clouding and yellowing.

Fast, easy, and affordable. There’s no need to tape off panels or spend time wet sanding through four grit stages. Best of all, there’s no guesswork. Most headlights go from hazy to clear in just a few minutes per lens. It’s a project with plenty of payoff.

A few pro-tips for beautiful headlights:

  • You'll need a standard 3/8" drill (not included in the kit).
  • Work on a cool, clean lens. Wash off dirt and road grime first so you're polishing plastic, not grinding grit into it.
  • Skip the scuff pad on lightly hazed lenses. It’s only needed for severe yellowing. When in doubt, try polish alone first. You can always step up to the pad.
  • Don't skip the sealant. Polishing without sealing leaves the bare plastic exposed to UV, and the haze will return much faster.

Replacing your headlight assemblies can cost you hundreds of dollars (per side and before labor). Professional detailing and restoration services charge a healthy fee for the same polish-and-protect process that you can DIY in your driveway.

The Flitz Headlight Restoration Kit gives you professional-level results with enough product to restore multiple lenses, at a fraction of the cost.

Because Flitz Paste Metal Polish and Ceramic Sealant are the same trusted products used across the Flitz line. You aren’t getting a watered-down “kit version” of anything. It’s the real thing, packaged with the applicator and prep tools to make the job foolproof.
