Stainless Steel is a popular choice for kitchen, household, and commercial appliances across the country because of its resistance to stains, corrosions, and rust. This is not to say that stainless steel never gets dirty. If you find yourself in need of a good stainless steel cleaner, Flitz has got you covered.

How Do I Clean My Stainless Steel Appliances?

There are multiple options when it comes to cleaning stainless steel and can be chosen dependent on the condition of the stainless steel that you would like to clean.

Water and Cloth

When learning how to clean stainless steel appliances, this is a quick and simple option for removing surface stains. Use warm water, a wash cloth (or a microfiber cloth), and a dry towel after washing to prevent water streaks. Minerals in water can leave marks on stainless steel; make sure you use the dry towel at the end. Wipe in the direction of the polish lines for best results.

Detergent and Cloth

For cleaning with added power, add a small amount of mild dish detergent to your warm water. Wipe down the dirty area and then rinse the area thoroughly to prevent any streaking or spotting. Finally, towel dry the area.

Glass Cleaner or Household Ammonia

Glass cleaner on stainless steel will be mainly for fingerprints. If you have other, deeper stains, it is recommended that you use one of the other options. Spray the cleaner on a microfiber cloth rather than on the stainless steel itself, you may end up with drip marks or an excess amount of cleaner. Wipe the stainless steel area gently in a circular motion to remove the finger print. Repeat as needed. Rinse thoroughly and towel dry.
